Artist of the day: Roy Jay
Los Angeles singer-songwriter Roy Jay, an Orlando native, has been touring the East Coast in support of his new album Lucky Guy.
His folk-rock style is flavored with Buffett-esque odes to lazy living, but his guitarwork has a rootsy edge that would attract the ears of any Steve Earle and Uncle Tupelo fans out there. Anyone who's heading to Saturday's Bruce Springsteen concert at the Ford Amphitheatre might want to give him a listen.
On Thursday, Jay will be performing with Uncle John's Band at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa. The show is at 8 p.m. Tickets are $7.
