Artist of the day: Skurvy the Clown

Last year about this time, Skurvy the Clown invaded St. Pete with a trip to the Emerald. They're doing it again this year, and hoping it can become an annual tradition.

This Cocoa punks -- Chuckles on guitar, Brother D on bass, Alberto Rivera on drums and Robyn Blair on vocals -- made their bones with funny, sloppy-ass old-school punk songs like Elvis Stole My El Camino (in the video above), I Wanna Be Ron Jeremy and 5 Dollar Crackwhore. It's simple, loud, nasty and fun.

Click here for a detailed band history. And check them out at 10 p.m. Saturday with Old School Boney Fiend -- that would be the original lineup, featuring Jimmy Bone, Jonny Fiend, Harold "Lurch" Post and Jake Crash -- and Hell-Bent, a Danzig-era Misfits cover band. Cover is $4.
