Artist of the day: Solia Tera
Christian-inspired Lakeland sextet Solia Tera — Christopher Noyes, Derek Larson, Kevin Thomas, Corey Ciralsky, Robert Gomez and Austin Quinn — plays a wildly enthusiastic and joyous style of music that band members describe as “lots of hands clapping, and many voices shouting.”
The band's self-produced EP, released in January, was "a huge blessing" to have finished, Noyes said in an e-mail.
"We are entirely self-produced at the moment (with an unexperienced and reckless pseudo-producer, myself, at the symphonic wheel), which has in itself been an adventure. I like being able to be meticulous with the production, and having the freedom to tinker around with the songs here at home -- which, having written the songs with purpose in mind, has been great. (Espcially when the songs call for several household objects, or things being thrown around or cut on tempo. I would just not know how to explain wanting to record those things to a professional producer.)"
