Artist of the day: Southside Serenade

In just over a year together, St. Pete’s funky acoustic popsters Southside Serenade (not to be confused with emo act Secondhand Serenade or Riverview’s Southside) has racked up some impressive gigs opening for Edwin McCain, Marc Broussard and Sister Hazel.

Singer Addison Arfaras, guitarist Ian Longen, bassist Tim LeFebvre and drummer Tony Martin have been working on a full-length album of jammy, fun-loving college rock -- think O.A.R. or Sister Hazel -- that might help them be Tampa Bay’s next great breakout band. mtvU has already been paying attention.

Southside Serenade will perform as part of a music industry showcase on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the State Theatre in St. Pete. Click here for details.
