Artist of the day: Southtown Fever

Tampa party band Southtown Fever can adjust to your needs. Want a 12-piece band with horns and three vocalists? You got it. Want a sound that's a little more fleshed out, with a four-piece string section? They've got that, too.

Fronted by bandleader/arranger/keyboardist Bob Macar, Southtown Fever performs at a variety of private and corporate events around Tampa Bay. Their song list runs the gamut from standards (Summer Wind) to hip-hop (Hey Ya) to hits from the '80s and '90s.

On New Year's Eve, Southtown Fever will headline Downtown Deco Eve, a party on the terrace of the Tampa Bay Times Forum. The event starts at 9 p.m., and includes food, '20s-style cocktails and more, all benefitting Heartbeat International. Tickets are $150 plus fees. Click here for details.
