Artist of the day: Suggestion

How to describe Suggestion? Well, take a dash of Gwar, a pinch of Insane Clown Posse, and a hint of 311, and put them in a blender, and you’d get this wildly weird funk-metal crew.

Members Alin, Frank Wolfman, Grundlegarth and King Bong — all fans of metal, jazz and hip-hop — perform in costume and in character as metal-loving clown monsters, all with elaborate backstories (sample: "Wolfman was, by day, the most aggressive lawyer to ever pass the Bar exam"). And don’t expect them to break character.

“Unfortunately, we were born into the world looking like this,” said Frank Wolfman.

They’re working on a 12-track album, due for release this summer. In the meantime, you can check them out Saturday at Transitions Art Gallery for a "Night of the Living Dead" concert with Ovid's Withering, Sidereal Pulse, Burning Fair Verona, Become the Ruined and What We're Afraid Of. Tickets are $7 with a costume, or $9 without. Click here for details.
