Artist of the day: The Terry T. Trio

The Terry T. in the Terry T. Trio is Terry T. Pinkham, a jazzy vocalist who has toured and recorded with the likes of Foreigner’s Lou Gramm and Orleans’ Larry Hoppen. But for the past 25 years, she and husband Jeff Pinkham, a multi-instrumentalist, have been living and performing in and around Tampa, singing smooth covers at parties and events. The trio is rounded out by their son, Joshua, who plays guitar and mandolin.

Recently, Jeff Pinkham was diagnosed with throat cancer. To raise money for his treatment, some of their friends from around the music industry will come together Monday night for a benefit concert at Skipper’s Smokehouse. Bertie Higgins, David Grisman, Jim Lauderdale, Jeremy Kittel (of the Turtle Island Quartet) and Mike Marshall (Joshua Bell, Bela Fleck) and Central Florida bluegrassers The Sunshine Bluegrass Boys will be on the bill. All in all, it’ll be a musical night to remember, all for a good cause. Tickets to the event are $15-$20. Click here for details.
