If you went to last week's Yeasayer concert at the State Theatre just to see the opening act, Washed Out, you might want to check out Versus INTL.

Like Washed Out, Versus INTL (a.k.a. DJ/producer Matt Moore) is a one-man electronic act with a lo-fi, atmospheric, "chillwave" sound. It's loungey, ambient and extremely fashionable at the moment, thanks to buzz-generating bedroom DJs like Neon Indian, Toro y Moi and Millionyoung.

Moore hails from Orlando but came to Tampa in 2005. As Versus INTL, he has worked with Prophit and Eye Alaska, and he's just released a new EP, Under Heavy Lights, that's available as a free download on their MySpace page. It offers even more fuel for the Washed Out comparison, as it includes an iced-out remix of Washed Out's excellent collab with Caroline Polachek, You & I. Click here to get the EP.

Versus INTL has been getting some love in the blogosphere, but the project is just taking off. If Moore doesn't end up rocking Gorilla vs. Bear one of these days, we'll be stunned.
