Avril Lavigne added to Rays Summer Concert Series

And the 2011 Rays Summer Concert Series keeps getting weirder.
A few weeks after adding The Wiggles and Miranda Cosgrove to the lineup, the Rays today announced the addition of Canadian pop-punk girly-girl Avril Lavigne on May 28, following the Rays and Cleveland Indians.
Baseball and Avril Lavigne go together like hockey and Edwin McCain, but honestly? We can't kill the Rays for this. This will destroy every micron of our hard-earned street cred, but we here at SoundcheckCorp. have always really enjoyed Avril Lavigne. Critics cannot stomach her nyah-nyah Punky Brewster routine, but we think she's got a much better voice than most people give her credit for -- she knows her range, she hits her notes and she doesn't oversing. And while some of her lyrics are just brutally awful, we're not afraid to say that her new single What The Hell is one of our favorite songs of 2011. YES, REALLY.
As always, tickets to the show are free with game admission. After the jump, get the full Rays Summer Concert Series lineup.
