Bad Brains coming to the State Theatre in St. Petersburg

Classic punk fans have a heck of a lot to look forward to this fall.

First there's Guttermouth, coming to the Local 662 on Sept. 11. Later, in November, you've got two big shows at the Orpheum: Agnostic Front on Nov. 14, and the Cro-Mags on Nov. 18.

And then today we see this: D.C. legends Bad Brains are coming to the State Theatre on Sept. 20. Tickets are $25. Click here for details.

While they never achieved the mainstream success of the Ramones or the Clash, Bad Brains are indisputably influential, blending hardcore, reggae, metal, dub, funk and socially conscious lyrics. They were recently voted the 10th best punk band of all time by readers of Rolling Stone. They're old friends of the State Theatre, performing there most recently in 2009. And the current lineup is the classic one -- H.R., Dr. Know, Darryl Jenifer and Earl Hudson -- so it should be a night of unforgettable punk noise.
