The Beauvilles booked for CMJ Music Marathon, Austin City Limits

Cool news for one of tbt*'s 2009 Ultimate Local Bands: The Beauvilles are heading to New York City to play the prominent indie-music showcase festival known as the CMJ Music Marathon.

The indie rockers announced the gig today, and a CMJ spokesman confirmed their acceptance, though no details were set on a venue or date. The festival runs Oct. 20-24.

Granted, it's not like CMJ is the most exclusive festival in the land -- more than 1,000 artists will play shows at dozens of different venues -- but still, plenty of industry types always attend CMJ. And this is the same festival that in recent years has helped break acts like Arcade Fire, the Killers and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. So for a Tampa band to have a gig there is a positive thing.

Before that, though, the Beauvilles are also heading back to Austin, Texas -- the scene of their headlining gig during this spring's South by Southwest Music Festival -- for a couple of shows during the Austin City Limits festival. They're performing with Your Kisses Cause Crashes and the Watermarks on Oct. 2 at Trophy's. If you're planning to be in the neighborhood, the cover is $5.

South by Southwest, Austin City Limits and CMJ all in one year ... it's a good time to be a Beauville.
