Best New Artist Grammy winners Zac Brown Band launching a cruise from Tampa

At this point, it seems like it would be easier to list the artists who DON'T have a Tampa-based cruise in the works.

The Zac Brown Band, who won the Grammy for Best New Artist on Sunday night, will launch their Sailing Southern Ground cruise from Tampa to Grand Cayman on Labor Day weekend. This puts Zac and company in the same league as artists like Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Finger Eleven and, um, Garrison Keillor.

Joining the Chicken Fried twangsters on the boat: Michael Franti and Spearhead (who are in Tampa this week, opening for John Mayer), Blackberry Smoke, Nic Cowan, Gaelic Storm, Sonia Leigh, Levi Lowry and more.

The cruise is Sept. 2-6, 2010, and takes place aboard the Carnival Inspiration. Package start at $699. Click here for all the details.

This is actually the Zac Brown Band's seventh voyage with rock-cruise magnates Sixthman, including four stints on the Rock Boat. Zac Brown kinda looks like a sailor, doesn't he? So you know you're in good hands.

(And for what it's worth, we don't think this settles the argument of which Best New Artist nominee will come to Tampa first. Until they play another landlocked show in the 813 or 727, they're strangers to us.)
