Buju Banton does not care for the food in the Pinellas County Jail
Remember Buju Banton? The purportedly homophobic, allegedly drug-trafficking, somehow four-time-Grammy-nominated rude bwoy who couldn't find a Tampa Bay venue for his show last fall (he was booked at the Ritz Ybor, then Jannus Landing, then, finally, the Cuban Club)?
Well, he finally found his local venue -- the Pinellas County Jail. He's been there since December, awaiting a trial on federal drug charges, following an alleged drug sting in Sarasota.
Unfortunately, he has decided prison isn't all it's cracked up to be, and jail food isn't that tasty. He's filed a lawsuit seeking a move to a different home, on the grounds that the Pinellas County Jail doesn't offer a diet that meets his Rastafarian requirements -- specifically, he's not getting the fruit and vegetables he says he needs. His lawyer claims he's lost 40 pounds in three months.
