Bush coming to the Ritz Ybor in Tampa

bush.JPG

First came Collective Soul. Then Babyface. Then Smashing Pumpkins. Then Sublime. Then Stone Temple Pilots. It's like our entire high school record collection is touring through Tampa Bay this year. Who's next, Bush?

Actually, yes. Bush'll do just fine.

Gavin Rossdale's old band has reunited (because everyone was demanding it, apparently), and they're coming to Tampa's Ritz Ybor on Oct. 14, according to the venue. The show starts at 8 p.m. An official announcement is still in the works, so expect ticket and onsale details soon.

This is not a show that will be high on everyone's radar, but let's face facts: You bought Sixteen Stone in 10th grade, and you still know every word to Everything Zen, Comedown, Glycerine, Little Things and Machinehead. You never questioned the lyrics "Rain dogs howl for the century / a million dollars a steak." Hell, you could probably hum a few bars of Swallowed and The Chemicals Between Us if you had to.

Actually, the more we think about it, the more we're starting to wonder if Bush was one of the more underrated rock bands of the '90s. They could string together a pretty rawkin' setlist if they wanted to.

Thoughts? All in favor of Bush at the Ritz Ybor, say aye?

50 Concerts

50rockWhy would anyone voluntarily attempt to see 50 concerts at 50 different venues in a single summer? Jay Cridlin shrugged and thought: Eh, why not.
