Bush coming to the Ritz Ybor in Tampa

Let's hop in the wayback machine to December, when British grungers Bush took the stage at 97X Next Big Thing festival, right after much younger groups Cage the Elephant and Foster the People, and right before A Day To Remember:

Bush Absolutely. Destroyed. Who ever thought we'd be saying THAT in 2011? Who had any idea Gavin Rossdale and company had this much gas left in the tank? ...  Bush wasted no time dispensing with the hits, opening with Machinehead and The Chemicals Between Us, and playing a big selection of tracks throughout the night from their breakthrough album Sixteen Stone, which was owned by anyone who went to high school and watched MTV in the '90s. But it wasn't just that Bush were so generous with their oldest, best-known hits. They played with passion and cocksure swagger, clearly jazzed by the huge crowd. Rossdale's voice hasn't lost a bit of its bite, and guitarist Chris Traynor matched him pose for pose, preen for preen. And their new songs? Pretty good! All My Life and The Sound of Winter? Really catchy!

Yes. We're THAT high on Bush circa 2012.

So we're pleased to learn that Bush is returning to the Ritz Ybor on Aug. 2. Tickets are $34 on Ticketmaster, and they go onsale Friday. That may seem steep, but all we can tell you is that at Next Big Thing, Bush put on one of the best concerts we saw in 2011. Seems weird, but it's absolutely true.

First the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and now this? What is this, '90s Day on Soundcheck? (Answer: Trick question. EVERY day is '90s Day on Soundcheck.)
