Chasco Fiesta preview: Rick Derringer, David Nail, LoCash Cowboys and more

Arvel Bird, the American Indian flutist and fiddler known as the "Lord of the Strings," will take the stage Thursday night to kick off Chasco Fiesta, Pasco's oldest, largest and longest festival. With a musical style that fuses his Scottish (Clan Kennedy) and American Indian (Paiute) roots, it was only natural to bring him back to headline Chasco's Native American Night, a free event that starts at 7 p.m. Thursday at Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey.

But as always, the country, Christian and classic rock slate will bring the bulk of the crowds to Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey through April 2. This year's headlining acts include Rick "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" Derringer (March 31), Grammy-nominated country singer David Nail, and country party-boys LoCash Cowboys (both April 2).
