Chris Tucker coming to the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg
Looks like Chris Tucker, who seems to release a movie only once a decade, is sticking with his return to his comic roots. The Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg announced Tuesday that he is bringing his “Guess Who’s Back Tour” to the venue Aug. 3.
Tucker has toyed with Mahaffey before. In December 2010 he postponed two shows until May 2011. Maybe he'll stay true to this date from the get-go.
The actor best known for the Rush Hour films and Friday, was one of the defining voices of the Def Comedy Jam in the 1990s. In 2006 he negotiated an unprecedented $25 million salary to appear in Rush Hour 3, which at the time made him the highest paid actor in Hollywood. Tucker is also a humanitarian and spends much of his spare time traveling and working with his foundation. He has recently completed a film project entitled Silver Lining Playbook with Robert DeNiro and Bradley Cooper due out later this year.
Tickets are $45.75 and $65.75 and go on sale at noon Friday at TheMahaffey.com or (727)( 893-7832. Click here for details.
