Christina Aguilera pushes summer tour to 2011, including Tampa concert

Well, at least Bono has a good reason for pushing U2's tour into 2011: Back surgery.

Christina Aguilera is pushing her upcoming summer tour into 2011 for an entirely different (and entirely more dubious) purpose: Promoting her new film and album.

Citing "prior commitments that the singer had made to her film Burlesque and to the promotion of her new album Bionic," Aguilera has announced the postponement of her entire summer tour, including an Aug. 8 date with Leona Lewis at Tampa's Ford Amphitheatre.

(We could point out that there really is no better way to promote your new movie and album than, you know, actually going on tour. But Xtina fans would just blame us for being Lady Gaga apologists again.)

"The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible," Live Nation said in a statement.

Christina Aguilera’s summer tour has been moved to 2011 due to prior commitments that the singer had made to her film Burlesque and to the promotion of her new album Bionic. The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible. New dates will be announced later this year. This includes the Sunday, August 8th performance scheduled for Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa.

Refunds are available at point of purchase.
