Colbie Caillat coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater

If you intend on checking out next week's Ingrid Michaelson-Mat Kearney acoustic popfest next week at Ruth Eckerd Hall, you might be interested in this concert announcement: A young Jennifer Aniston Colbie Caillat is coming to Clearwater on April 17.

"Colbie Caillat?!" you're screaming indignantly. "She's nothing but a cute California chick with a guitar! Why should we care about this concert?"

Au contraire, friends. First of all, no one ever suggested there was anything wrong with cute California chicks with guitars. Second, songs like Bubbly, One Fine Wine, Realize, The Little Things and Fallin' For You are the sort of pop earworms that bury themselves in your brain and lay eggs of musicality and ... okay, sorry, this metaphor is going nowhere, and it's disgusting. Let's move on.

Third, Caillat has critical acclaim to back her up. She just won two Grammys -- one for Lucky, her duet with constant chum Jason Mraz, and one for her contributions to Taylor Swift's Fearless, which won Album of the Year.

Finally, Archie likes her. That's a good enough reason, right?

Tickets to Caillat's show are $33-$42, and they go onsale at noon March 22. Call the Ruth Eckerd Hall box office at (727) 791-7400 for details.
