Coming to Tampa Bay: The Sounds, Thievery Corporation, Say Anything

A few notable concert announcements to round up from the past few days. We'd have listed them sooner, but we were too busy wetting our pants with excitement over the Vanilla Ice/Rob Bass show at Shephard's:

-- The Sounds, above, who last blew through these parts opening for No Doubt and Paramore in June, will come back to the Ritz Ybor on Sept. 29. Tickets are $17-$19, and they go onsale here at 10 a.m. Saturday. In case you missed it, here's our chat with Sounds guitarist Jesper Anderberg.

-- Feeling in more of a trip-hop mode? Thievery Corporation will come to the Ritz Ybor with Ancient Astronauts on Oct. 10. Tickets are $38.50 ($60 for VIP) and they go onsale here at 10 a.m. Saturday.

-- For those who love pop-rock and rock-pop and pop-punk and pop-punk-rock-pop (we're just cold inventin' new genres here, people), Say Anything and Eisley will be at the State Theatre in St. Petersburg on Nov. 13. No word yet on tickets.

-- Jannus Landing may not be having the best of times right now, but that doesn't bother Skinny Puppy, whose In Solvent See Tour is scheduled to hit Jannus on Nov. 28. No ticket details just yet.

-- Finally, you know who's not coming to Tampa? Tampa's The Almost, who are joining The Used on a fall cross-country jaunt. The closest they'll be is Orlando on Oct. 31. What the hell, fellas?
