Coming Thursday: Rock the Park with Cope, 10th Concession, Jeremy Gloff and Friends of Giants
If you missed the first tbt* Ultimate Local Music concert, held May 5 at Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa, good news: You still have one more chance to get to know some of the best musical talent the area has to offer.
Four more of tbt*'s 2011 Ultimate Local Artists -- Cope (above), 10th Concession, Jeremy Gloff and Friends of Giants -- will perform a free show at the spectacular riverfront park from 6:30 to 9 p.m. this Thursday.
Last month's show, featuring Marksmen, Alexander and the Grapes and Dynasty featuring d'Visitors, was a huge hit, drawing more than 2,000 people to the park. We met some cool musicians there, and we think all of the artists made some new fans. At least one dude bought a Marksmen CD, then got the entire band to sign it. Click here for our review of that show.
This is a special Rock the Park show for another reason, too -- it's the one-year anniversary of the monthly event, which has grown into a huge success. The first show drew something like 20 or so people at the park, so their progress is really remarkable.
