Concert of the day: Tom Jones
In case you missed his show Friday at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Tom Jones, the king of the crooners, is hitting Tampa Bay again, this time at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota.
Known simply as "Jones the Voice" in his native Wales, the singer is renowned for a full-throated vocal power that extends from a baritone to tenor range. Jones has garnered such a following that he fits in to today's music perfectly. Don't believe me? Check out his duet of Burning down the House with the Cardigans and try not to sing along.
For those wanting to check him out as he shakes it in concert, tickets are still available and cost anywhere between $60 and $100 and the concert starts at 8 p.m. And check out Sean Daly's interview with Jones here.
