Constantine Maroulis, 'Jeykll & Hyde,' to kick off Straz Center's 2012-13 Broadway series; 'American Idiot' coming in 2013
Constantine Maroulis is filling in for Sebastian Bach. Seems about right, doesn't it?
The American Idol also-ran -- who became a Tony-nominated stage star thanks to Rock of Ages, in a role he reprised at Clearwater's Ruth Eckerd Hall last year -- will bring his Broadway chops back to Tampa Bay this fall in the musical Jekyll & Hyde, the first show on the calendar for the Straz Center's 2012-13 calendar.
Maroulis will play the title role(s), which have been filled over the years by the former Skid Row frontman and David Hassellhoff, among others. The production runs Oct. 23-28 in Tampa.
