Craig Morgan, Joe Nichols, Jake Owen coming to the Florida State Fair
When it comes to live music, the Florida State Fair takes a distant backseat to the Florida Strawberry Festival. But this year, Fair organizers are jumping into the country music pool in a not-too-shabby way.
On Feb. 11, country singers Craig Morgan (above), Jake Owen and Joe Nichols will headline "Corndogs and Country" at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre. Joining them on the bill are Sunny Sweeney and Brett Eldredge.
Tickets to the show are a pretty reasonable $20, which is made all the more enticing by the fact that State Fair admission is included. Doors open at 5 p.m., which should give you plenty of time to get your elephant ears on before heading to the Gary for the show.
Morgan (Redneck Yacht Club, Little Bit of Life, That's What I Love About Sunday), Owen (Don't Think I Can Love You) and Nichols (Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off) make for a pretty solid trio of country-dude headliners. And let's not forget about the annual "Country Gold" concert, which this year will feature Leroy Van Dyke, Jim Ed Brown, Helen Cornelius, Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley and Bobby Bare. That show is Feb. 16 at the fairgrounds.
It's not Lady Antebellum, The Judds and the Doobie Brothers. But it's a start.
