Das Racist coming to the State Theatre in St. Petersburg
The formula sort of works like this: Odd Future : Wu-Tang Clan :: Das Racist : Beastie Boys. That's oversimplifying things a bit, but it works -- if L.A.'s Odd Future brings dark, heavy, in-your-face weirdness, Brooklyn's Das Racist is jokey, ironic, experimental and multicultural. (The two groups are, to some -- like the New Yorker's Sasha Frere-Jones -- inexorably intertwined.)
Das Racist has won plaudits from Spin, Rolling Stone and MTV, among many others, and are 100 percent USDA hipster-approved for your health. They'll also be performing at the Langerado Music Festival on Oct. 8-9.
But first, the local show. Look for Das Racist on Oct. 6 at the State Theatre in St. Petersburg, alongside Danny Brown and Despot. Tickets are $15. Click here to get 'em.
