David Cook, Edwin McCain, Juliet Simms coming to Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa

Have you heard about the big party coming soon to Curtis Hixon Park? No, not the one for the Republican National Convention. We're talking about Summerfest, a big concert and cornhole tournament that hits the downtown Tampa park on Sept. 8.

Former American Idol winner David Cook is your headliner, along with singer-songwriter Edwin McCain and Tampa Bay native -- and recent finalist on The Voice -- Juliet Simms. Other artists on the bill include Simplified, Shane Meade, Amber Lynn Nicol and Matt Winter.

The event, which is sponsored by Tampa pub Irish31, runs from 1 p.m. to midnight and will also feature food, drinks and college football on two giant screens, so don't worry about missing the Gators, Bulls or 'Noles. Tickets are $20, or $100 for VIP. Click here to get 'em.
