Electric Daisy Carnival is this weekend in Orlando. Who's going?
Amid all the recent news about the inaugural Identity Festival coming to Tampa, and brining with it more than 20 notable DJs and electronic artists, we have neglected to mention an even bigger event taking place right up the road.
We're talking about the Electric Daisy Carnival, which over the past decade has evolved into one of the premiere electronic-music events in the country. Held mostly on the west coast in years past (Southern California, Las Vegas, Colorado), the EDC is for the first time coming to Florida this weekend, in Orlando. And some absolutely monster headliners are coming with it.
Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Benny Benassi, Ferry Corsten, Afrojack, Diplo, Calvin Harris (above), Rabbit In The Moon's Bunny, Skrillex, Goldie and dozens more DJs will perform at Tinker Field (1610 W Church St.) on Friday and Saturday. General admission tickets are $60 each day, or $119-$249 for both days.
Local dance, dubstep and house fans are totally geeking out about this event. So tell us -- who are you going over to see? We've always wanted to check out Scottish club-rocker Harris, and are bummed he's not coming to Tampa Bay instead, but hey, when you've got this many big names in one place, it seems like it's worth the drive.
