Erasure coming to the Ritz Ybor in Tampa

Not to go all Scrubs on you, but sometimes you just can't help singing Erasure's A Little Respect at the top of your lungs. Same goes with Ship of Fools, Always and Chains of Love.

So we can't help but perk up when we learn that Erasure is about to embark on their first full-fledged U.S. tour in five years -- and it'll kick off at the Ritz Ybor in Tampa.

Andy Bell and Vince Clarke will take the stage at the Ritz on Aug. 31, according to an announcement from AEG Live. It'll be their first local show since 2007. Tickets are $35-$50, and they're scheduled to go onsale Friday via Ticketmaster. Click here to get 'em.

The tour precedes Erasure's album Tomorrow's World, due in the fall, and comes at a time when artists as divergent as La Roux, Lady Gaga and Twin Shadow are all producing new takes on the emotive synth-pop sound favored by Bell and Clarke. If their current stage show feels as relevant as their sound, we should be in for a treat.
