Eric Church cancels Dec. 13 concert at USF Sun Dome in Tampa
A while back, the USF Sun Dome announced country It Boy Eric Church would be performing there on Dec. 13. That's big news, since his anthem Springsteen has been one of the biggest country hits of the year, and is likely headed for a lot of Grammy love.
Then we never heard anything else about the show. Then: Still nothing. And now, according to Church's website and the Sun Dome's calendar, the concert isn't happening at all.
"The Eric Church show previously scheduled for December 13th has been cancelled due to artist scheduling conflicts," a spokeswoman for the venue confirmed when we emailed her about it today.
Indeed, Church is now scheduled to play Charleston, S.C. on Dec. 13 (with gigs in Jacksonville and Sunrise immediately thereafter). We don't know how long this has been the case, so it feels weird to say the Tampa show was "cancelled" -- maybe it was never truly official in the first place -- but in any event, it's definitely off. Since tickets never went on sale in the first place, no refund info is necessary.
Our prediction: Church takes one of the headlining slots at next spring's Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City.
