Gasparilla Music Festival lineup: Deer Tick, Lee Boys, Rebirth Brass Band to headline inaugural event on March 10

It's a start. But it's not a bad one.

The initial lineup for the inaugural Gasparilla Music Festival was announced Tuesday, and we have to say, it wasn't quite what we were expecting: Alt-country act Deer Tick (above), blues-funk groups the Lee Boys and Rebirth Brass Band, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Alvin Youngblood Hart, as well as jazz-pop singer Kaleigh Baker (formerly of Orlando) and popular Bradenton group Have Gun, Will Travel. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

The event will take place in and around downtown Tampa's Curtis Hixon Park, which has been crying out for a festival for some time. If the weather is right, this mix of alt-country, blues and funk should be just right. Tickets are $15 advance or $20-$25 at the door. Click here to get 'em.
