Oh, those witchy women at the Witch's Brew in Palm Harbor. When they're not staging psychic fairs or tarot meetups or toasting the autumnal equinox, they're celebrating the art of black sorcery. Or witchery. Or something.

With Halloween on the horizon, it'll be a big weekend at the Witch's Brew (1219 Florida Ave., Palm Harbor). Saturday is Witchstock 2009, "where Woodstock and Halloween meet." The free event is noon to midnight.

The party features vendors, costume contests, "pet-friendly psychic readings" (you heard us) and, best of all a Corona-sponsored lime-carving contest. You can win your height in Corona 12-packs! (We're inviting Palm Harbor's own Matt Geiger as our ringer.)

As for the Woodstock half of the equation: Gary Rhodes, Thaddeus Wiley  and The Defendants will perform. And Terry Premru will fingerpick selections from The Wizard of Oz. And at 7 p.m. there will be a presentation of scenes from the musical Wicked.

Double brownie points for anyone who covers She Wolf during the gig.
