Gilberto Santa Rosa, Willy Chirino coming to the Straz Center in Tampa
Santa Rosa, above, is a legendary Puerto Rican salsa singer and bandleader who was a big hit when he performed a Rays postgame concert at Tropicana Field in 2008. The Cuban-born Chirino is the godfather of Miami salsa, and he has released nearly 30 albums since the early '70s. Both have won Grammys, and both have sold millions of albums worldwide ... but they've never shared a stage in one concert.
Chirino and Santa Rosa will perform together for one night only on June 12 at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa. According to Maxima 92.5, it's the first time they've shared the stage in a single concert (the show is titled Juntos Por Primera Vez: "Together for the First Time"). Tickets start at $45.
