Globe Coffee Lounge in St. Petersburg closing Wednesday
The Globe was something of a minor player on the St. Pete music scene, but it's long been one of the venues friendliest to folksy singer-songwriters, and was a tiny haven of cool back before sleepy downtown St. Pete had evolved into The 'Burg. Just this summer, the Globe was one of nine venues that participated in the Antiwarpt Festival, hosting sets by Rebekah Pulley and Will Quinlan.
Sad to see it go. Here's hoping Cafe Bohemia can pick up where the Globe is leaving off.
