How my teenage mom got to hang with Alice Cooper

Kim Wilmath's mom was always so gentle. She gardens, she teaches Spinning and lectures her daughter about wearing sunscreen.

Imagine Kim's surprise when one of her mother's friends offhandedly mentions "that one time your mom and I partied with Alice Cooper."

Turns out that as 14-year-olds, Kim's mom and the friends were typical teenage hellraisers. And in order to scare them straight, the friend's mother brought none other than Alice Cooper himself to the house to let them know how troublesome the rock 'n' roll lifestyle could be.

"We were sort of surprised about how much beer he drank," Yvette Wilmath said, cracking up.

Alice Cooper is back in town on Friday for a concert at 8 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Tickets are $35-$65. Click here for details.
