Il Divo breaks the bank at the Mahaffey Theater

How much money does a venue stand to make from an operatic pop quartet these days?

Just ask the folks at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg. They just announced that the sold-out Il Divo concert June 28 at the Mahaffey was the highest-grossing show in the venue's history.

The final tally: $208.119.10. All in one night. That'll certainly buy a lot of Nicholas Sparks novels and Coldwater Creek capris.

Hmm. Maybe we ought to go ahead and get our front-row Celtic Thunder tickets now.
