Insane Clown Posse coming to the Hawaiian Village in Tampa

As we told you last week, the Hawaiian Village at the Stadium Green Iguana is making a bid to become Tampa's version of the old Jannus Landing: A raucous outdoor concert courtyard where anything goes.

On Monday, they hosted the Rock Allegiance Tour, with Buckcherry, P.O.D. and Papa Roach. On Nov. 23, shock-rockers Gwar will hit the stage.

But first Insane Clown Posse -- who had the ignominious achievement of playing the final concert at Jannus Landing -- will come to the Stadium Green Iguana on Oct. 22. Tickets go onsale Friday, starting at $29.50. Click here to get 'em.

We realize very few of you have probably been waiting with baited breath for another local show by ICP. But Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J have gotten a ton of mainstream recognition in the past couple of years, from their schlocky viral video for Miracles to their wildly controversial post-apocalyptic festival known as the Gathering of the Juggalos. (They got loose alligators up in there! Chomp on some stick meat! Come have sex with the Iron Shiek!)

More to the point, it's becoming clearer than ever that the Hawaiian Village wants to become a major player in the local concert game. If that means bringing in dirty, messy, unappealing concerts that no venue since Jannus Landing has wanted to touch, so be it.
