Interpol coming to the Ritz Ybor in Tampa
Time was, you couldn't catch a concert in Tampa Bay without bumping into Interpol.
The gloomy New York indie rockers played the State Theatre in February 2003. They performed at the Ford Amphitheatre as part of the Curiosa Festival in July 2004. And they returned to Jannus Landing in March 2005.
Since then, though, it's been all quiet on the Interpol front in Tampa Bay. Maybe Paul Banks and Carlos D simply couldn't find a suitable dry cleaner for their myriad black suits and gun holsters.
But that's about to change, because for the first time in six years, Interpol is coming back to Tampa (minus Carlos D, but still). The group will perform April 28 at the Ritz Ybor in Tampa, according to this. (The Interpol fan site Public Perversions also has an update, as does Ticketmaster, and Interpol's official Twitter feed promises an official announcement about new spring tour dates tomorrow.) Tickets will be priced starting at $23.
This, of course, is a fine treat for Tampa rock fans, as Interpol will be opening for U2 on several U.S. dates this summer.
