iTunes offers We The Kings' new single, 'Say You Like Me,' as a free download

For the second time this year, iTunes is giving a Tampa Bay artist some major love.

Say You Like Me, the new single from proud Bradenton pop-punks We the Kings, is iTunes' free Single of the Week. Fitting, since the band released their third album, Sunshine State of Mind, today.

The single is full of the band's trademark fist-pumping whoa-oh-ohs and melodic choruses, but the verses have an oddly reggae-calypso vibe. At first blush, parts of Sunshine State of Mind have an equally bright 'n' sunny sound, not unlike Green Album-era Weezer. (It's weird that an album with that name would have a song called The Secret To New York, but whatevs.)

Click here to download Say You Like Me. And if you like what you hear, you can also download Sunshine State of Mind for the discount price of $7.99. And if you like THAT (or even if you don't), you should check out We The Kings on July 22 at the State Theatre. Tickets are $16. Click here to get 'em.

This is the second time this year that iTunes has promoted a local artist's work. In March, Aaron Gillespie (formerly of Underoath, currently of The Almost) got to see his single We Were Made For You offered for free.
