Jack Johnson, Kings of Leon coming to Tampa's Ford Amphitheatre

Wow, okay, big day for the Ford Amphitheatre. Where do we begin?

Uber-mellow singer-songwriter Jack Johnson, above, is coming to the Ford Amphitheatre on Aug. 25, according to his Web site. Ticket prices haven't been announced yet, but they go onsale April 10. Click here for details.

Meanwhile, hot off their Record of the Year Grammy win (for Use Somebody), Kings of Leon are returning to Tampa Bay on Sept. 18. Paradoxically, tickets to this show go onsale earlier -- this Friday, March 19, to be exact. Ticketmaster has the prices listed at $29.50 to $49.50. Click here for details.

Kings of Leon were last in Tampa in May 2009, at the USF Sun Dome. In his concert review, Sean Daly said they were "unlike any young rock band out there, unloading a tasty damnation boogie that spans hellhound blues, country lament and raging rock." (Click here for a full review.)

It's been a little longer since we've gotten a taste of barefoot Hawaiian balladeer Johnson. In fact, we can't recall the last time he played in Tampa Bay, or even if he's ever been here. Do you any of you guys recall a Jack Johnson concert in the 813 or 727? If so, let us know in the comments.
