Jannus Live to host benefit concert for slain Tampa officers

In its short existence, the owners of the new Jannus Live have been eager to prove themselves as dedicated members of the community. They recently held an oil spill benefit concert, and they're planning another one to benefit brain cancer research on July 24.

Now, in the wake of the fatal shootings of Tampa police officers David Curtis and Jeff Kocab, Jannus Live is hosting a free concert by seven local artists, with donations going to the officers' families.

The family-friendly show starts at 3 p.m. July 18, with music by rock bands Save the Radio (above), Livewire (featuring Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy Jay Hajj on vocals) and Satellites Down; goth-pop outfit Sonic Erotica; tween country sensation Suite Caroline; and singer-songwriter Amber Lynn Nicol. All the artists are donating their time.
