Jay and Silent Bob coming to Hard Rock Live in Orlando

Is a live podcast considered a concert?

We think so. And while it's unlikely that Doug Benson will record an episode of Doug Loves Movies when he comes to Tampa in December, or Adam Carolla will bring his Adam Carolla Show to Florida (or Germany, for that matter), there is one popular podcast coming to the Sunshine State in 2011.

Actor Jason Mewes and director Kevin Smith -- a.k.a. Jay and Silent Bob from Clerks, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and many other Smith flicks -- are coming to Orlando for a live taping of their podcast, Jay & Silent Bob Get Old.

The dynamic duo's show is currently one of the most popular comedy podcasts on iTunes, and it's one of the centerpieces of Smith's SModcast Network. And given Smith's cult following -- and the legend that seems to follow the characters of Jay and Silent Bob -- it's no surprise people are already buying tickets for this show.

The taping will take place at 8 p.m. March 30. Tickets are $37.50-$45, and while Smith tends to tour a lot, and has been to Florida many times before, podcasts are a different animal. Fans of certain shows can become cultishly obsessed, so you've got to think this show will draw a huge crowd.
