Julio Iglesias coming to the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg
Some of you Soundcheck readers might recall Enrique Iglesias' over-the-top performance at this year's 93.3 FLZ Jingle Ball, during which the pop crooner plucked a ladyperson from the audience, placed her hands on his behindus and delivered a rendition of Hero so sultry and sweaty it nearly gave your humble Soundcheck editor the vapors.
Where, you might be wondering, did Enrique learn moves like that? Simple: He got 'em from his father, Julio.
If you've never seen Julio Iglesias' onstage seduction techniques live and in person, here's your chance. According to his website, the Spanish crooner will perform at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg on March 3. It'll be his first Tampa Bay show since 2007 at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Ticketmaster says tickets go onsale at noon Saturday, and will cost $47.50-$102.50. Click here to purchase.
Expect to see a lot of AARP-aged swooning when Julio breaks into his signature babymakin' ballad, To All The Girls I've Loved Before. Oh, who are we kidding? We'll probably weep too.
