Kaiser Chiefs, Laws, Blink-182 and more


-- You don't hear much about them on this side of the Atlantic, but British Invasion-inspired punks Kaiser Chiefs have a pretty strong following around Europe and in the music industry. Want proof? The Leeds fivesome was picked to be the opening act on Green Day's U.S. tour, including their stop at the St. Pete Times Forum on Aug. 3. If that's not enough, they're opening for U2 this summer in Europe. Hail to the Chiefs, indeed. Tickets to the Green Day show are $22.25 and $46.75.

-- says they've figured the full lineup for all of the shows on Blink-182's star-studded megatour. The bands on the Tampa date: Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects and Asher Roth. (Hmmm ... might have been nice if we'd gotten Weezer instead.) The tour hits the Ford Amphitheatre Sept. 27.

-- Bubba Sparxxx was arrested in Clearwater on a felony narcotics charge!

-- Tampa dude Matt Hires, who played with Eric Hutchinson on Tuesday, will release his debut album for F-Stop Music, Take Me To the Start, on July 28. Before that, he's headlining a gig at the Ritz Ybor on June 26. Tickets are $10. Get details here.

-- Local rappers are buzzing about Spring Hill's Laws' upcoming mixtape with DJ Smallz and the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Your Future Favorite Rapper. The joint will drop in June, but the first single, Shoot Wack Rappers, has leaked -- download an mp3 here.
