Kaskade coming to the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa

As spring heats up into summer, we're starting to see more and more big-time DJs come to town. Last week it was Excision at the Ritz Ybor. In the coming weeks, we'll see SBTRKT, Zeds Dead, Rusko, Hot Pink Delorean, Ferry Corsten and Sander Van Doorn come to town. (To say nothing of DJ Pauly D this weekend!)

But this one has us scratching our heads.

According to his Facebook and Ticketmaster, dubstep superstar Kaskade is bringing his "Freaks of Nature Tour" to Tampa on July 13 for a show at ... the Florida State Fairgrounds' Expo Hall.

In a small way, this makes sense. Kaskade headlined last summer's Identity Festival, which took place at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre and two indoor stages at the fairgrounds. The indoor stages were absolutely rocking, so it does seem like a pretty great place for a rave. And Kaskade (real name: Ryan Raddon) does have a thing for unconventional performance spaces. Remember that riot he incited after scheduling a last-minute free block party last summer in Los Angeles? (However, this VIP ticket site says the concert is slated for the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre, so you never know, it could get moved around.)

Folks at the Fairgrounds said no details were finalized on this show, and couldn't officially comment. Ticketmaster says tickets will cost $33.50 and will go onsale Saturday (3/17). Click here for details.
