Kendrick Lamar coming to the Ritz Ybor in Tampa

In the absence of a truly great hip-hop club in Tampa, the Ritz Ybor is filling a heck of a void. It's Tampa's go-to destination to see acts like Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Tyga, Odd Future, Big Sean, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, Die Antwoord, Big K.R.I.T. and Curren$y (although we're still dying for them to bring in Freddie Gibbs).
Throw another up-and-coming name on the pile: Kendrick Lamar.
Everyone's favorite new rapper (so far in 2012, he's played Coachella and Bonnaroo, with a slot at Pitchfork still to come) will hit the Ritz Ybor on Sept. 26. Tickets are $26.50. Click here to get 'em.
No word on whether the Compton MC, who's been compared to Tupac, will bring Black Hippy cohort Schoolboy Q for the ride. But this is billed as the BET Music Matters Tour, and BET says Lamar will be joined by "a yet-to-be-announced lineup of emerging talents." That probably rules out Dr. Dre, with whom Lamar collaborated on single The Recipe. He's pretty well established at this point.
