The Kinsey Sicks postpone Friday's concert until Oct. 25 due to Republican National Convention
One of the cheekiest pre-parties to the Republican National Convention won't be happening after all.
The Kinsey Sicks, a drag troupe that performs a mix of politically charged comedy, theater and music, have postponed their Aug. 24 concert at the Tampa Theatre until Oct. 25 "due to ever-increasing federal security restrictions for the Republican National Convention," according to a statement from sponsors the Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
"The issues of limited parking and access next to the RNC event zone have made it too unpredictable for ticket buyers to fully enjoy the event," Ken Hodges, president of the Friends of the Festival, said in a statement. "We regret this change, but fortunately Kinsey Sicks understands this situation and have graciously agreed to reschedule the event soon after our 23rd annual festival (Oct 5-13). We also appreciate the Tampa Theatre's willingness to fit us into their busy schedule."
The Kinsey Sicks took to Facebook to apologize to "apologize to all our devoted Tampons who were braving the lockdown of the city during the Republican National Convention."
Tickets purchased to Friday's event will be honored in October. Refunds are available at point of purchase until Sept. 25.
