Limp Bizkit, Alice in Chains, Puddle of Mudd coming to Tampa for 98 Rockfest

This is either going to be the best concert or your life, or you'll want to move away from Tampa until May.

The annual 98 Rockfest is in the midst of unveiling the lineup for this year's show, scheduled for April 24 at the St. Pete Times Forum. And if you like every rock song you've heard on the radio since about 1999, boy, you're gonna love this lineup: The re-formed Alice in Chains (above) the reunited Limp Bizkit, Puddle of Mudd, Sevendust, Hell Yeah and Paper Tongues, with even more bands on the way.

We're not sure we agree with those who think Limp Bizkit is the worst band in history -- we interviewed guitarist Wes Borland a few years back and found him to be a pleasantly agreeable man, despite his assertion that a Limp Bizkit reunion "will never happen" (oops) --  but we can think of nothing good to say about Puddle of Mudd. Nothing at all.

Alice in Chains, though, definitely intrigues us. We never got to see them back in the day, and while we are far more excited about this summer's impending Soundgarden reunion, we could see ourselves checking this show out if only to hear whether new vocalist William DuVall can match the late Layne Stayley on Down In A Hole, Them Bones and No Excuses. Word is he's got the goods.

The event is April 24 at the St. Pete Times Forum. Tickets are $30-$78, with VIP passes for $128 and a 4-pack of tickets for $98. Click here for all the details.
