Loretta Lynn coming to the Lakeland Center

Some hipsters in the audience might not have been into Loretta Lynn before Jack White produced her Grammy-winning album Van Lear Rose. Too bad for them. The Coal Miner's Daughter has written and sung some of the feistiest, catchiest country songs of all time -- we're partial to the Shel Silverstein-penned One's On The Way, if you must know. Fist City's pretty good, too.

So it's a treat that she's coming back to Central Florida for the first time in a long time. Too bad it's over in Polk County, not Hillsborough or Pinellas.

Lynn will perform Dec. 9 at the Lakeland Center's Youkey Theatre, according to the venue's website and Ticketmaster. Tickets go onsale to the general public June 3; they'll cost $30.50-$65.50. Click here for details, and click here to purchase.

It's billed as "an evening with" Lynn, so maybe she'll treat the audience to some of the amazing stories behind her music.
