Los Lobos, Vanilla Ice, Tantric added to Rays Summer Concert Series

Booking the Go-Go's must have cost the Tampa Bay Rays a pretty penny. Because now that the Go-Go's have canceled their July 10 postgame concert at Tropicana Field, the Rays have added three more names to their Summer Concert Series lineup.

The team announced Tuesday that three acts will be added to their postgame Summer Concert Series, all on Friday nights: Tantric on June 25; Vanilla Ice on July 9 and Los Lobos on July 30.

Wow. Okay. Where to begin?

Los Lobos, of course, are a Grammy-winning Latin rock group most famous for their cover of La Bamba, but their longtime fans would be quick to tell you their talents go well beyond just that one song.

Vanilla Ice? Well, we would be shocked by that ... but remember, the Rays booked MC Hammer a couple of years ago. How is the man behind Ice Ice Baby any different? (But as we saw when Ice hit Shephard's Beach Resort last year, you shouldn't expect a nostalgic good time. Caveat emptor, Rays fans.)

Hard rock band Tantric is a wild card, but maybe the shrewdest pick of the bunch. You know that electric fiddle that plays every time Evan Longoria steps to the plate, sending a shiver up your spine and the crowd into a frenzy? That''s Tantric's Down and Out, and it's been Longoria's at-bat music since 2008. Can you imagine how that song is going to go over when they play it live at the Trop? Maybe Longoria will come out to sing along.
