Matt and Kim coming to the State Theatre
What are you doing with your loved one this fall? Visiting the relatives? Taking a trip up to cider country? ("If it's clear and yellow, you've got juice there, fella! If it's tangy and brown, you're in cider town!")
Not Matt and Kim. The super-cute but insanely high-energy dance-pop-punk duo (and real-life couple!) just announced a fall tour. And good news, local fans: It'll bring them to the State Theatre in St. Petersburg on Oct. 15. Tickets are $15 advance, $18 at the door, though we don't yet know when they'll go on sale. Click here for details.
Matt (Johnson, vocals and keyboards) and Kim (Schifino vocals and drums) are best known for their super-energetic, super-feel-good anthem Daylight, which has popped up in a handful of commercials and soundtracks in the past couple of years, and also their controversial(?) video for Lessons Learned, which involved the group stripping to the bare skin in New York's Times Square. That clip won the mtvU Woodie Award for Best Video.
We don't know if they'll get naked for their show at the State, but the duo is known for their crazily energetic shows. Check out these photos from their show at Czar in 2009.
